Description
Grandma Sita made these two hat hakus a little different—because sometimes, something special just comes through her hands.
One has a light base with orange touches—warm and full of life, kind of like how the sun feels in the late afternoon in Tonga. The other one’s got deeper brown tones and soft black details—it’s calm, strong, and classic, like the earth and stories we come from.
She weaves these by hand in her little corner of Kailua, Hawaiʻi, surrounded by her garden, family, and old Tongan music playing in the background. Every haku she makes carries part of her spirit—her love for her culture, her craft, and the journey that’s taken her from Haʻapai to Hawaiʻi.
These aren’t just decorations. They’re made to honor where we’re from—and who we are.
